Auction Pricing Options
Commission Option:
Seller pays a pre-determined % of the Final Sales Price.
5-50% dependent on items being sold.
Commission rates can be total or capped (Ex 5% max of $1000 per item)
Buyers Premium Option:
Seller pays lower% of Final Sales Price.
0-20% dependent on the items being sold.
Buyers pay 5-15% buyer’s premium added to final sale price.
Pros and Cons of Each Option
Pro: Commission: Buyers tend to bid more
Buyer Premium: Costs consigner less of the Final sale price
Con: Commission: Consigner pays flat % per item no matter of realized price.
Buyer Premium: Buyers tend to bid lower since the Premium is added to
the final ale price.
